UI Health Care Medical Center Downtown
Jennifer Miller is the chief administrative officer at University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center Downtown. In this role, she oversees the hospital’s finances, daily operations, quality and safety efforts, and community partnerships. She also helps ensure the downtown campus is well integrated into the broader UI Health Care system.
Jennifer began her career at UI Health Care in 2005 as a dietetic intern in Food & Nutrition Services. While earning her master’s in public health and master’s in health administration degrees from the University of Iowa, she worked in several roles, including food service worker, manager and registered dietitian. She later completed an Administrative Fellowship at UI Health Care.
After her fellowship, Jennifer worked as a project manager, where she helped plan hospital operations for the opening of UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital in 2017. She then served as director of support services at UI Health Care. In that role, she led multiple departments that supported hospital operations, facilities, logistics, infrastructure and accreditation. She also helped guide the acquisition and transition of Mercy Iowa City.
Jennifer is a native of Iowa and a first-generation college graduate. She is a wife and the mother of four children. She is actively involved in her community as a 4-H youth leader, a volunteer youth recreation and volleyball coach, a supporter of United Way and a board member of the Iowa City Downtown District.
