Amanda Grieder became the assistant city manager in 2025. She provides support for daily operations and strategic initiatives, overseeing the facilities, fleet, and safety division managers; the innovation and customer service program manager; the animal care and control manager; and federal and state legislation. In 2025, she served as interim parks & recreation director.
Grieder has served the city in various roles. She began as a police officer in 2010, then joined the SAFE-CR program in 2013, becoming its program manager in 2014. In 2019, she took on management of the automated traffic enforcement program, establishing processes that would become statewide best practices. In 2022, Grieder moved to the city manager’s office as program manager, leading the organization’s Innovate CR and Customer Service initiatives while supporting federal and state legislative matters. She became assistant to the city Manager in 2023.
Grieder holds a bachelor’s in criminal justice from Loras College and a master’s in business administration and general management from St. Ambrose University.
