United We March Forward

Kasasila Gloire is the founder of the Multicultural Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a childcare program rooted in culture, compassion and belonging. Originally from Burundi, Kasasila’s journey was shaped by resilience after her family fled their home country due to war and rebuilt their lives in the United States. Inspired by her mother’s in-home childcare, she developed a deep passion for creating safe and supportive spaces for families.

Today, Kasasila provides culturally responsive childcare, ensuring immigrant and refugee families feel seen, heard and valued. Beyond her work in early childhood education, she is actively involved with United We March Forward, supporting Kirundi-speaking individuals as they navigate resources and build stability. She also tutors students in English and mentors youth, helping them build confidence and believe in their potential.

Kasasila’s work is deeply personal and rooted in community. Through her leadership, she continues to uplift families, bridge cultural gaps and create opportunities for others to thrive.
